Twin Topiaries

I don't know about you, but I have become a fan of faux greenery over the past few years. I love having pops of green scattered throughout my home.

While I would love to have real plants in my home, it is just not possible. As many of you know, I live in the woods and due to that fact, my home does not get much natural light. I have tried  a couple different houseplants over the years but  haven't had much success with them.

So, I was excited when I was contacted by a company called HedgeScapes asking if I would like to give an honest review of one of their products. I decided to go have a look around to see if they had anything I wanted. I only wanted to choose a product that I knew I would use and enjoy. I was thrilled to see they had topiaries

I have always loved topiaries! These came in a set of two which was even better. I put my request in and received my package promptly. I was excited to open it and see if they looked as realistic as they had online.

I was not disappointed. They look very realistic, from the foliage, to the stem and even the pot looks like it has dirt in it. The clay pots are really nice as well.

When I ordered them, I had intentions of using them in my bedroom after we remodel, but since we aren't finished with that project, I decided to use them in the dining room for the holidays. I couldn't bear to leave them sitting in the box for months.

I really do love them! I have been asked to review a few products over the years and have only done so a couple of times. I won't review anything I wouldn't consider purchasing myself.

I recently updated this space with my new cow pictures above the buffet, so here's a couple shots of it now. I am in love with the whole look!

I hope you enjoyed as well.

If you are like me and like using faux greenery around your house, you may want to check out HedgeScapes for yourself.

Again, I received these topiaries in exchange for my honest review of these products.

If you are a blogger and are interested in reviewing a HedgeScapes product yourself, leave me a message and I will direct you to the representative.

I have lots of life updates I hope to share soon. I hope you are all well and have a wonderful week!
Until next time.....

Living Room Refresh

Hello friends and welcome back or welcome if you are visiting for the first time. I thought it was a good time to write a blog post since I have a little extra time on my hands today. I have been trying to do some fall cleaning and a little sprucing up around the house and thought I would share my living room with you today. Not a lot has changed, but enough has to share so here we go.

Back in April I shared that I moved my vintage record cabinet from the craft room to the living room. It is still here and I like it here for now. I did change the decor on top but that is all. We are hoping to build an entry off the front of our home eventually. I have always wanted an entry with a coat closet and a place to drop things off to keep the living room a little less cluttered. That is a project for down the road though as we have other more important things lined up first. We are still working on the master bathroom and then the master bedroom will be next. I am so ready to finish those rooms!

I purchased new living room rugs. You can see the one at the door here. It matches the bigger one. I also took down the dark grey patterned curtains and put up some tan and white ones that let more light in.

You can see the big rug here. I love it...the colors are cream and tan with cerulean blue as an accent color. It is really pretty. I purchased them from Wayfair.

I also purchased some new pillows at JoAnne's Fabrics earlier in the week. I love the black and cream buffalo check and think it is perfect for fall and winter.

I love the saying on this pillow.
Our home is very important to us...it is our happy place!

A few weeks ago I purchased the wooden box at Michael's to house the dog toys.
It says Play. :)

I found this pretty cream and green bouquet at JoAnne's also and love it. I am using more subdued colors for fall this year. I just placed the bouquet in a vase and sat it on top of a place mat along with a couple coffee table books and a coaster.

Isn't it pretty?

I printed a new piece for the gallery wall clipboard. I still love my gallery wall!

I purchased a snuggly, soft new blanket to coordinate with the new rug and curtains a little better. I really want to recover my ottoman but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I placed this pillow from Ikea on my chair as well since I bought the new ones for the couch.

The copper chicken wire basket on the bottom shelf of my side table holds magazines as well as tissues, lotion, and a couple different zipper bags that contain anything from earbuds to eyeglass cleaners. I like to keep often used things handy.

The top just holds a cute Hobby Lobby frame with a photo of the hubby and I, a candle from Target which smells heavenly, a coaster, and a small lamp.

No major changes, but just enough for it to feel fresh and new again. I am enjoying the simple changes. Hopefully I will have a new bathroom to share soon!

I hope you are doing well and enjoying fall weather. We haven't had any real fall like weather yet...just a hint in the air occasionally. Enough to make us want it to hurry up and get here. Have a lovely week ahead and until next time.....

Weddings, Babies, and Shopping...Oh My!

Hello friends...pull up a chair and visit!
I'll be sweet and let you sit in my pretty new hot pink desk chair! It makes my happy place even happier, don't you think?

I thought I would pop in and share a few happies from the past few days. Life has slowly resumed to normal after Irma left town. We were without power for 5 days but no complaints here....my home is still standing and for that I am forever grateful!
The hubby and I went out over the weekend and I had the urge to do a little shopping. I went to Michael's and TJ Maxx and had success in both stores. I found this little cotton pad organizer for the bathroom...if we ever finish it!

I also found this sweet little sign at TJ Maxx and it had to come home with me. The concept of Hygge was a new one to me when I first heard the word in the spring. I love it and bought two books about it. This is the lifestyle I have always adored...maybe I'm Danish. :)

I bought this metal basket to use in the master bathroom as well. We are using satin nickel fixtures and I thought this would tie in nicely to organize something.

I  bought a new lanyard for my school ID and keys and a cute new pencil bag at Michael's. I am such a sucker for black and white stripes!

I also picked up these cute little organizing bins. They were 60% off and super cheap.

The adorable little treat bags called my name as well. I will bake some cookies to share one day soon. They have a clear front to see the cookie inside.

I love these Iris bins for organizing at home and at school. These went to school with me. They were on sale 3 for the price of 1!

I also snagged a couple MAMBI sticker books which are my favorite for my planners. They were half off that day as well.

I picked up a few other things, but they were gifts so no sharing on the blog....just in case! We visited my mother-in-law over the weekend as well and I couldn't help but pick acorns off some of the hundreds of fallen branches from the hurricane. I will place them in a bowl or jar for fall. By the way, my mother-in-law had her PET scan today and her cancer is still gone! Such amazing news! She has lost two of her sisters in the past two weeks though so that is sad news. Tomorrow is the funeral for one of them.

Happy news again....my cousin has a new baby girl and I am just a tad smitten with her....is she not beautiful? Miss Clarissa has stolen my heart!

While shopping at TJ Maxx over the weekend, I picked up these two adorable chairs on clearance for my classroom. They are the cutest!

And finish out our little classroom library perfectly.

I went to Miranda's childhood best friend's wedding last night. It was absolutely gorgeous! As was my Miranda...see for yourself. She was the maid of honor.

The venue is a farm not too far from my home. It is called 7 Hills Farm and is absolutely idyllic for any event but especially a wedding.

Look at the bathroom counter! A huge slab of cypress with buckets for sinks and pitcher pump faucets. I love the huge chain holding the counter up!

And here is the happy couple...Liz & Alex.

The barn from the outside.

Chandeliers hang from the open rafters throughout the barn.

The ceremony spot was all lit up when I left the reception. Beautiful...that's a chandelier hanging in the center.

The silo, which serves as a serving spot/bar was so pretty lit up as well.

Everything was gorgeous! I enjoyed it so much.
I hope you all are having a lovely week. Tomorrow is Friday and I am so happy. It has been a good week but a super busy one and I am ready for some down time. I hope you all enjoy your Friday and weekend. Until next time.....
